Ride of about 30 miles on flat to rolling terrain around Lake Milton at a mid-high moderate pace starts at 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion on Milton Avenue in North Jackson. Stay afterwards (if you want) for the Jackson Milton Hot Stove Cow Drop Bingo fundraiser. The cost of tickets to the fundraiser is $20.00 per person, for which you get both food (served about 6:00 when the doors open) and an entry in the cow drop bingo game (starting about 7:00). In the alternative, you can buy a ticket for only $10.00, but that will get you only food and not a grid entry for potential prizes in the cow drop bingo. There also may be an opportunity to play some bocce at no additional charge. There will be a cash bar. For those of you unaware of the rules of cow drop bingo, here is a summary. A grid is marked on a field with a different number marked inside each rectangle on the grid like a bingo card. Everyone who buys a ticket that includes an entry in the event is assigned a number that corresponds with a number on the grid. Cows are let loose from the edge of the grid. Eventually the cows let loose and have “moo”vements on the grid marked field. Prizes are awarded to ticket holders based on the numbers of the grids where the cows deposit their droppings.
