Out-Spokin Wheelmen Mission Statement



To maintain our status as the largest bicycle club in the Youngstown area by providing our members with the opportunity for physical and social activity through a schedule of rides and events appropriate for riders of various ages and skills and encourage all riders to experience the adventures of cycling and lasting friendships.

  • Event Highlights

    • Three Ride Options for All Skill Levels
      Choose from a 32-mile ride to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and back, a 12-mile neighborhood ride to Churchill Park, or a 5-mile family-friendly ride to Goodwill and back.
    • Police-Escorted Community Ride
      The 5- and 12-mile routes are police-escorted, creating a safe and welcoming environment for families, casual riders, and first-time participants.
    • Start & Finish at Wick Park
      All rides begin and end at historic Wick Park in Youngstown, providing a central gathering point for participants and spectators.
    • Post-Ride Celebration
      Following the rides, participants and community members are invited to stay for a post-ride celebration at Wick Park featuring food trucks, a business and community group marketplace, family-friendly activities, and a preview of Jazz in the Park.
    • Celebrate the Belmont Corridor
      Bike Belmont showcases neighborhoods along Belmont Avenue while highlighting local businesses, community assets, and ongoing revitalization efforts.
    • Community Partnerships
      The event is made possible through collaboration among local organizations, cycling groups, businesses, and community leaders working together to promote healthy lifestyles and neighborhood pride.
    • Supporting Building A Better Belmont
      Proceeds and sponsorship support help fund ongoing planning and improvements along the Belmont corridor, including bike-friendly infrastructure and community initiatives.

Rails To Trails Documentary From PBS

The Out-Spokin Wheelmen offer a wide variety of rides. Our ride leaders follow a set of guidelines to ensure that all rides are enjoyable, safe and organized. 

Rides must be posted at least 24 hours in advance of the start of the ride.

Ride Pace and distance are included in all ride descriptions.


This information is set by the ride leader. Please check the information

when deciding on a ride. 


Leisurely:     9-11 mph

Low Moderate: 11-13

Mid Moderate: 12-14 

High Moderate 13-15

Brisk:       15-18

Fast:        18+


Included in your membership is free access to club routes on The Ride With GPS app.

Ride Leaders:

To ensure each person gets credit for their club miles, please email the Ride Attendance/Waiver Sheets.  Take a picture of the ride log and email it to Miles@outspokinwheelmen.com

 
if you cannot take a picture, email the names and total mileage. 
You will have to keep the waiver in case there are future questions.

SICCO TRAIN STATION
Rides can be added to the schedule in two ways.

1. E-mail or text the information to Ride Captain, Fred Payne to add the ride.
2. Add the ride yourself through "Add a Quick Event" on the Event Calendar page.
