“Donut Challenge” and Tour de Donut, June 4

Tour de Donut - logoLIVE New Wilmington will host its inaugural Tour de Donut Bike Tour starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 4 at Westminster College’s Memorial Field House. Pre-registration is $20 and guarantees a limited edition t-shirt.

Cyclists of all levels may choose from 10-, 30-, or 60-mile tours. Water, Gatorade, and fruit will be provided before, during, and after the tour.

The 2017 PMTCC McDermott 3-State Tour is the Major Taylor signature bicycle ride held on July 16th, 2017. The ride starts in Pittsburgh and heads west entering into the states of West Virginia and Ohio. This is a scenic road ride with a few long hill climbs, rolling hills and some flat roads.

Three McDermott 3-State Tour options are 85 and 100 mile routes beginning in downtown Pittsburgh at the Golden Triangle Bike Rental located on the Three Rivers Heritage Bike Trail and a metric century (62-mile) route beginning in Neville Township, PA. All tours allow riders to…

The Lancaster Covered Bridge Classic (formerly Covered Bridge Metric Century) will be held August 20, 2017 in Lancaster, PA. It offers beautiful routes of 100 miles, 62 miles, 31 miles, and 15 miles. The 100 mile route option, which offers challenging climbing, is new for 2017. Each route traverses through covered bridges and past Amish farms.

Proceeds from the ride benefit the Lancaster Bicycle Club’s grant program which has donated over $275,000 for bike-related initiatives and covered bridge preservation since 1999.

Participants will ride a leisurely 25 mile or a more intense 62 mile (metric century) course beginning and ending at Mastropietro Winery. The 25 mile loop will feature views of Lake Milton, while the metric century takes riders around Lake Milton, West Branch, and Berlin Center and through some beautiful country scenery. Riders are required to wear a helmet.  Register for the Bicycle Tour by May 1st and receive a free t-shirt. All riders will receive a water bottle and goodie bag.
